Oculus Rift is one of the most famous VR systems. In fact, just recently, Coinbase founder Brian Armstrong stated that he believes that digital currency will be used in virtual worlds. Based on his statement, it is possible that Oculus Rift and other VR systems will accept digital currencies like Bitcoin in a few years. This can possibly even happen by 2022, the year for which Tim Draper famously predicted that Bitcoin price will reach $250,000.
Oculus Rift Offers Virtual World
Oculus Rift is a VR system that allows you to put on a headset and enter virtual worlds. Additionally, the system comes with touch controllers and sensors. Moreover, the VR experience almost makes you feel like you are in real life. However, you can choose your game and world.
Oculus Rift and VR Systems to Accept Bitcoin
Coinbase founder Brian Armstrong referred to Ready Player One as one example where a virtual world accepted the virtual currency. Thus, as people are building more VR systems and virtual worlds today, Oculus Rift can have more competitors. And, the systems can start accepting digital currencies like Bitcoin in a few years.
Brian Armstrong also gave reasons why cryptocurrency makes sense in a digital world. The participants in the game can have one digital currency. They will be motivated to spend more time in the worlds to earn the digital currency. They can spend their digital currency on things like real estate, vehicles, and tickets in the virtual world. Also, Brian indicated that customers can take the money they earn in virtual worlds and convert the money to real money for their living.
Tim Draper Predicted Bitcoin Price of $250,000
Tim Draper, a famous billionaire VC investor, predicted that the Bitcoin price will reach $250,000 by 2022. Moreover, he is so confident about this prediction that he hung up a poster with it in front of his program, Draper University.
If VR systems and virtual worlds start accepting digital currencies like Bitcoin, we are sure that the digital currency demand will rise. And, the prices will soar. If virtual systems like Oculus Rift accept Bitcoin by 2022, the Bitcoin price might rise to $250k. Certainly, this will make Tim Draper happy.
